Now the Yokohama Marching Band would like to express our gratitude
to all the world for their support in the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Still, there is an atomic power station crisis going on
and the way to reconstruction of the devastated area seems long.
But, with the cordial support from the people all the world over,
those who suffered from the quake feel relieved
and each one of us does feel love will find a way.
Yes, we are surely on the way to reconstruction and restoration.
As a Japan based group, we would like to respond to the love
all the world have sent us by saying "Thank you!"

One of the way to show our sincere gratitude to the world we think
is coming back on the stage, giving musical performance.

It Was Beyond My Imagination

Japan was struck by three disasters simultaneously (four major earthquakes, tsunamis and radioactivity). This was one of the biggest disaster the world has ever seen.
I visted the disaster area to rescue the family of an acquaintance. (140 degrees E 55' 29" 36 degrees N 56' 6").

Big ship and cars were scattered here and there and damaged by tsunamis. I hope that time will heal and ease the damages by earthquakes tsunamis. However, I believe in Japanese Government and the electric power company about the radioactivity accident.

YMB Cancelled Burnal Equinox

As all the world might be aware,
the great earthquake struck Japan and devastated many cities and towns.
The consequent accident of an atomic power station
that supplies electricity to the Tokyo metropolitan area
causes the power shortage in this region.
The planned power outage is conducted almost everyday.

As such being the case, the Yokohama Marching Band
has regrettably decided to cancel its performance in Burnal Equinox.
Instead, we are resolved to cooperate in recovering the suffered region
and in revitalizing Japan in a way or another each of our members can.

We sincerely appreciate the Burn2 staff who have invited us to the event
and all the residents who are looking forward to our show.
We don't know when, but we are sure to come back to the playa.
Please wait for us until then.

Great Earthquakes in Japan!

I cannot help but writing about the great earthquake in Japan. In fact, it was not a single earthquake: Several earthquakes occurred almost simultaneously in different places. Tsunami does not give enough away. Aftershocks are still following. The maximum earthquake was 7 on the Japanese intensity scale with the magnitude of 8.8. 12 hours after the earthquake, we were surprised by the location of the seismic center. There were three centers. Off the coast of Sendai, off the coast of Ibaragi and even in Nagano, the inland Japan! The dead and missing persons are under the destroyed houses or buildings or swallowed underwater. Even the most crowed areas of the cities were swallowed by the tsunamis. People all over the world should not forget this lesson. The tsunami was terrible. Fortunately, there were no victims of our band members. Many thanks for the messages from the world of condolence, sympathy and encouragement.

BURN2.0 has started. 1.5 hours later,The parade began our first performance.

It's always difficult to face the harsh parade. The capacity of SIM MAX!

The SIM extreme heavy crash us. We try to figure it many times. How touching it.

Manager is absent(Oversleeping). And the driver also too(Oversleeping). rofl

But we was able to carry it members present. How it would be nice.

Burn 2.0, a new name for Burning Life, one of the most biggest annual event in Second Life, is just around the corner. The celebration of fire, art and community will take place from Saturday Oct.16 to Sunday Oct.24 this year. Yes, the YOKOHAMA MARCHING BAND will join this festivity by setting up our camp with naturalway Flow's Music StarMine and giving various musical events.

Back on the vast empty playa, we are beginning to build our camp and organizing event schedules. The more detailed information will be updated on this blog. SAYONARA SL7B!

Jul.03 is the last day of Second Life 7th Birthday,
which has last for 2 weeks.

In the first week, we had a lot of performances
with pop singer Yasutaka Koba, soprano singer Haruno Watanabe,
DJs Nervous Habana, MAO Lisle, and genta Zabelin
with fabulous kimono dancers Milky MAIHIME.
Unitan Grau and Ryo Maynard from V.L.T.G also made
unique and wonderful performances at our venue.
Yes, a lot of wonderful performances of wonderful guests
and a lot of wonderful people who visited our site and enjoyed
all those performances.
We thank them all.

Yes, to appreciate everyone involved in this birthday party
and to celebrate and commemorate this 2 week long event,
the Yokohama Marching Band will host a final event at our venue

"Ring of Second Life"

"Relay Palooza" is over. And the Yokohama Marching Band will perform for another event dedicated to the social cause. We will appear at the very end of the 14-hour-long international event "Ring of Second Life - Music Camp 2010 for Haiti," taking place on May 3, 2010 in order to raise funds for the support of Haitian people suffering from the earthquake in January. Yokohama Marching Band is globally recruiting new members!

- One who wants to have some fun playing musical instruments
but has no musical experience in the real world;
- One who has played in the marching band in the real world
but does not think marching is possible in Second Life;
- One who tried to play the musical instruments
but gave it up thinking it was too difficult.....

Why won't you join us in playing music in Second Life
and have a lot of fun together!
If you don't have a real life experience or don't have musical instruments,
Don't worry a thing!
Love for music is enough. ;)

Meanwhile, band supporters are also wanted.

Q. Sounds interesting. But I've never played the musical instruments in RL.
A. No problem. You will make a great musician in Second Life! We practice several times before the day of performance and the experienced members will help you to get over any difficulties.

Q. I don't have musical instruments. Nor appropriate attire. Will I have to buy them?
A. Instruments and costumes necessary for performance are provided by the band. You don't have to pay a penny for them.

Q. As a member, will I have to appear at every events? It seems impossible for me.
A. You can play at the events only when it is convenient for you.

Q. What should I do when an unexpected business comes up on the day of performance?
A. Please give priority to the real world matter. If it's not impossible to play, please let us know as soon as possible so we can look for someone for your part.

Q. Will I have to pay for enrollment or membership?
A. There's no enrollment or membership fee. You don't have to pay a penny to join.

We do an announcement of the first performance in second life to Japanese all of you.We performed three times publicly so far. However, I know that there is the person who does not know this performance in great numbers still more.

I make many animation for a performance to make look beautiful for you. ;-)

This stage invited two friends. The two people are Mr,Yasutaka Koba and Mr,Hiroshi Kumaki.They are the pianists who are very famous in Japan.Please hear their performance and song of different types by all means. Please look without forgetting our stage drill!Please come to here with your friends!

We participated in consecutive events for the first time for one week.
It gave us splendid experience.

When there was not me, it got possible to do a parade.

SL6B begins!

SL6B which began at last.

It was the holding of the delay for one hour on the first day.

Therefore we did not perform the event of the parade and paraded experimentally instead.

A very hard parade was finished!

Bay City parade was finished! It was very heard parade.
It cannot move. I cannot operate it.
It may be said that it ended it somehow.
I think that the thing which we got in this parade is big.
The next parade got conviction possible better.
I challenge the border of sim with much malfunction from now on.
Because the parade to be over commonly is not interesting.

Our marching band has begun to walk by 3/09/2008 15:30~ Minatomirai SIM~Nihonodori SIM(Coming and going)

It was very long time parade. about 2.5hours over.

First time parade was very tired and strain.

It was a brilliant start.
