Now the end of the year draws near, the Yokohama Marching Band gives Beethoven's 9th Symphony concert as in the past years. The year 2020 is the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth and the Band will also play the first movement of his 5th Symphony. Come and enjoy the turn of the year with us!

YMB Concert: Countdown to 2017

Yes, we will give a countdown concert this year too!

The turn of the year being just around the corner, Beethoven's 9th Symphony is one of the most frequently played music in Japan. Many orchestra, professionals and amateurs, play Beethoven's 9th almost everyday somewhere in Japan. And so will we!

The Yokohama Marching Band proudly announce Beethoven's 9th concert at the very end of the year, 12/31 23:30 at Japan time and welcome the new year 2017 with music.

Wishing to celebrate this occasion as many people as possible, we encourage the audience participating in playing the music together on the stage! Whether you are a YMB member or not, whether you have a musical instrument or not, it does not matter. Just come to the venue at 7:00 AM SLT and we will give you our musical instruments! Let's have fun and welcome the new year together! We are looking forward to seeing you all there.

Beethoven's 9th and New Year Concert

The turn of the year is just around the corner. The Japanese people enjoy Beethoven's 9th Symphony toward the end of the year and the Yokohama Marching Band will play its 4th movement at the very end of the year 2015, counting down to the new year 2016, and celebrate a happy new year by music.

This time you can join the concert as an orchestra member if you like. Please show up at the stage at 6:00 AM PST (23:00 JST), 30 minutes before the show begins so you can get a musical instrument and practice playing it! :-) Of course, your participation as an audience as usual is also welcome. Anyway, let's celebrate the new year together by enjoying the music. We are all looking forward to seeing you there!

YMB Music Festival "Revival of Legends" This Weekend!

The Yokohama Marching Band, one and only music group in Second Life that parades, performs stage drills and gives concerts, hosts a musical event after its long silence with AKATSUKI, masa Homewood's new dance and music project, who is well known for his legendary "ZERO" and "weiß". YMB manager and synthesizer improvisationist Hiroshi Kumaki also appears on the stage as a solo musician. 

The Japanese musicians who made legends in the past Burining Life (Burn 2.0) and SL Birthday events reunite on this occasion. So the "Revival of Legends." Don't miss it!

YMB Parades for RFL Event "CDS Hooters Mardi Gras"

Long time no see! And the Yokohama Marching Band is back! We are invited to join "CDS Hooters Mardi Gras," a fund-raising event organized by a Relay for Life team for the American Cancer Society. Yes, the location is CDS islands and we will parade through three sims: Alpine Meadows, Locus Amoenus and Colonia Nova. We would be happy if you would come see us and cooperate in raising funds.

YMB Parades at the Opening of Second Life Autumn Music Festival (SecFes)

From October 6 through 8, the Second Life Autumn Musical Festival, abbreviated as "SecFes", is held in Jabara Land sims, where more than a dozen of Japanese SL musicians gather to raise funds for the support of the cities and towns suffered by the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011.

We are very happy to announce here the Yokohama Marching Band is also a part of this event and parades through Jabara Land sims at the beginning of the event.  And Hiroshi Kumaki will give his solo concert on the second day.

Parade for Relay for Life on March 31!

Relay for life event will take place from March 30 to April 1 to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.  And we are happy to announce the Yokohama Marching Band will be a part of Mardi Gras parade beginning at 10:00 am PDT Saturday March 31 (2:00 am JST Sunday April 1).

This is a Teams R Us event and many Relay for Life teams will join for fund raising in New Orleans situation.  We will celebrate the carnival with many floats parading through the venue sims.

Come together, enjoy Mardi Gras with us, and raise funds for ACS.  Thank you!

Thank You, World - YMB Comes Back!

Now the Yokohama Marching Band would like to express our gratitude
to all the world for their support in the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Still, there is an atomic power station crisis going on
and the way to reconstruction of the devastated area seems long.
But, with the cordial support from the people all the world over,
those who suffered from the quake feel relieved
and each one of us does feel love will find a way.
Yes, we are surely on the way to reconstruction and restoration.
As a Japan based group, we would like to respond to the love
all the world have sent us by saying "Thank you!"

One of the way to show our sincere gratitude to the world we think
is coming back on the stage, giving musical performance.

Here on the Playa Again! - Burn 2.0

Burn 2.0, a new name for Burning Life, one of the most biggest annual event in Second Life, is just around the corner. The celebration of fire, art and community will take place from Saturday Oct.16 to Sunday Oct.24 this year. Yes, the YOKOHAMA MARCHING BAND will join this festivity by setting up our camp with naturalway Flow's Music StarMine and giving various musical events.

Back on the vast empty playa, we are beginning to build our camp and organizing event schedules. The more detailed information will be updated on this blog. And if you're interested in playing with the YOKOHAMA MARCHING BAND as a member, please feel free to contact Hiroshi Kumaki or winds Seiling by sending IM.

We are looking forward to having good times with you on the playa again. :)

SAYONARA SL7B!

Jul.03 is the last day of Second Life 7th Birthday,
which has last for 2 weeks.

In the first week, we had a lot of performances
with pop singer Yasutaka Koba, soprano singer Haruno Watanabe,
DJs Nervous Habana, MAO Lisle, and genta Zabelin
with fabulous kimono dancers Milky MAIHIME.
Unitan Grau and Ryo Maynard from V.L.T.G also made
unique and wonderful performances at our venue.
Yes, a lot of wonderful performances of wonderful guests
and a lot of wonderful people who visited our site and enjoyed
all those performances.
We thank them all.

Yes, to appreciate everyone involved in this birthday party
and to celebrate and commemorate this 2 week long event,
the Yokohama Marching Band will host a final event at our venue
entitled "SAYONARA SL7B!"

"Ring of Second Life"

"Relay Palooza" is over. And the Yokohama Marching Band will perform for another event dedicated to the social cause. We will appear at the very end of the 14-hour-long international event "Ring of Second Life - Music Camp 2010 for Haiti," taking place on May 3, 2010 in order to raise funds for the support of Haitian people suffering from the earthquake in January. We hope you will come to enjoy our performance and cooperate in raising funds.
